Luffa Seeds
Our luffa seeds are grown and harvested on our farm in Midway, Georgia. Each packet has a minimum of 25 seeds.
Growing your own luffa sponges is a great eco-friendly way to cut down on synthetic product in your house... plus, it’s fun!
Luffa vines can grow up to 40' long, so plant them near a fence or trellis. Plant luffa in full sun 2 weeks after the threat of frost has passed.
Harvesting:
Young luffa gourds are edible; harvest them green and use them like zucchini.
If you want to use luffa for a sponge, let the gourd dry on the vine, and harvest when the vine is dead. Peel the gourd and let it air dry, then take out the seed and cut it into pieces.
